Sands Cotai Strip involved one of the most visionary hospitality plans ever – the creation of an entirely new integrated resort encompassing the world’s largest casino, several luxury hotels, retail malls and numerous leisure facilities. In her role as Design Director, Samantha was charged with bringing together the business model and the creative ambition, and for leading and orchestrating the efforts of numerous design teams and other specialists in the delivery of the project.
Her scope of work included overseeing the design of the Four Seasons Hotel Macao, a development which comprised its own casino, restaurants, spa and convention centre as well as luxury hotel accommodation, branded serviced residences and a couture retail experience which featured an unprecedented 850 tenants. For this project alone, Sam managed over 25 independent consultants, the operations team and key stakeholders within Sands; she was also directly responsible for managing the design expectations of Four Seasons’ Chairman, Isadore Sharp, and Las Vegas Sands’ Chairman, Sheldon Adelson.
In addition, Sam spearheaded the creation and delivery of Paiza Mansions, an ultra-luxury, invitation-only offering for VIP guests within The Venetian Macau. Working with several of the world’s most prestigious design firms, Sam designed and detailed the 2,000 m2 suites as the ultimate expression of exclusivity.
The programme of works also included Cotai Central, a US$4 billion integrated resort with some 3,000 rooms.
