Together with world-renowned architect, Moshe Safdie, Samantha worked closely with Las Vegas Sands’ CEO to develop a modern, state-of-the-art destination that quickly became the flagship of Singapore’s leisure and tourism offering.
Marina Bay Sands was extraordinary in its scale and vision and it was imperative to provide the right formula for the client in terms of the design strategy and management, as well as the coordination and on-site supervision to ensure the execution was just right. The retail mall alone was so vast it was key to have regular nodes of interest. Art, an ice-skating rink, floating F&B pavilions, views through glazed walls in corridors to prevent dead ends and many other features were included to retain visitors’ interest on the long journey and encourage them to explore multiple floors.

Following its opening in 2010, Marina Bay Sands quickly became a masterclass in and a global icon of integrated resorts.
"I was one of five key decision makers. My scope was to oversee and manage all design aspects of the project build and my role encompassed the identification and engagement of the most appropriate and talented teams of designers. In leading the design management effort, I was responsible for overseeing the collaboration between the design teams, which included numerous workshops where we exchanged ideas with the lead architect, Moshe Safdie, and Aedas from Singapore. We were working with some of the best consultants in the world and it was my job to provide the design direction to ensure the client's expectations were surpassed, budgets were met and there were the highest quality finishes throughout."
